I jumped in the river and what did I see?
Black-eyed angels swimming with me
A moon full of stars and astral cars
All the figures I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and futures
And we all went to heaven in a little row boat

There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt
-Radiohead

1. I have a job now. Working at a coffee shop isn't as great as some teenagers may think. When I was in high school (I can't believe I get to say that now), everybody wanted to have a job at Starbucks or the Gap. A job at the Gap is totally understandable, but Starbucks? I work at one of a small chain of coffee shops on the west coast called Espresso Roma. We're good at espresso. Don't come asking for that frappuccino crap.

2. I'm leaving in 23 days, I think. I leave for D.C. on August 21. Marisa had a dream about me again: Mike, Marisa and I were walking on the 14th Street Bridge, and a plane crashed into it. (A plane did crash into it in 1982.) Anyway, Marisa told me to saw big elevator that went up to a tree, and the people who were on the plane went up the elevator. Then she said I jumped in the Potomac and started to walk on water, like Jesus. Then hands came up and tried to pull me down, but there was some force that kept me afloat. And then, a head bobbed up, and it was Chandra Levy. Anyway, I thought that was pretty weird. Maybe, Marisa's just worried about me. I just told her that I'm not an intern.

3. Valeda and Nicole are miserable. That's how I see it. Is UC, Davis really that bad? I mean, everybody talks about the cow tipping and the farmland. They had their orientation last week, and Valeda came back and told me how boring it was. Their mall has something called Gottschalks. I'm ignorant about the up North. I think they're also upset because their big store is Rite-Aid. It probably has something to do with the fact that Immaculate Heart had a Rite-Aid across the street from it too. Val said the Rite-Aid up there was a little bigger. Oh yeah. And they have a Gap. But who doesn't have a Gap? When I went east in April, I made it my goal to try to visit all the Gaps in America. I started collecting their business cards. Anyway, I'm weird.

I think that's all. Hey, I've been at this Pita thing for a year now. So that's a year in the life of a teenage girl.
